Sleep Therapy

CBT-I

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia (CBT-I): a gold-standard, evidence-based treatment for insomnia.

  • I underwent intensive training and consultation in CBT-I and have been certified in this treatment since 2021. My training and experience have included how to adapt CBT-I for people with chronic pain and chronic illness.

  • CBT-I can be an extremely satisfying and rewarding treatment with tangible, often quick results when implemented effectively. I will spend the first two sessions assessing your history, functioning, and sleep. The treatment phase typically consists of an average of 6-8 sessions (this may differ depending on your situation). This treatment is ideal whether your only problem is insomnia, or if you have insomnia in addition to other psychological or medical conditions.

Treatment for chronic nightmares

I offer Narrative Imagery and Rehearsal Therapy (NIRT) for nightmares. NIRT is an evidence-based cognitive-behavioral therapy for chronic nightmares, especially those related to trauma or PTSD. I offer other trauma-focused therapies for trauma-related nightmares as well.
