Healthcare Provider Burnout

Due to my experience working in a hospital setting alongside healthcare professionals as the psychologist on multidisciplinary healthcare teams, I have intimate knowledge of the stresses and burnout that can occur in medical settings, working with patient populations that are medically complex, and having a high-achieving personality. At times I’ve been called upon as informal support to my trusting medical colleagues on hard days.

Signs of burnout may include:

  • Emotional exhaustion

  • Dread about work

  • Feeling detached or numb

  • Irritability

  • Difficulty recovering after work

  • Guilt about needing time for yourself

  • Feeling responsible for everyone else's needs

  • Difficulty setting boundaries

I help healthcare providers navigate boundaries, people-pleasing and self-critical tendencies, stress, compassion fatigue, and taking care of themselves in addition to others.
